Many marine vessel power systems contain ageing and obsolete switchgear equipment that is no longer supported by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and can benefit from retrofit solutions.

For instance, manually dependent oil circuit breakers made before 1970 are still fairly common. Other worn out or dangerous circuit breakers may be present and are an ever increasing risk that could cause power failure or even fire.

To prevent catastrophic faults and failure, it is best to act sooner rather than later and replace older unsupported parts with the latest safe and efficient air circuit breakers.
