- Mechanism Testing
Protection relay technology is becoming more complex. Our engineers are experienced with the ever-growing array of features and can apply the correct settings for your circuit. Both electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relays require period testing to ensure correct functioning.
- Generator, Motor, Feeder Unit, Busbar & Transformer Protection
- Device Synchronization
- Translay
- Buccholtz
- Tripping & Control Equipment
Thermal imaging (or infrared thermography) is an important inspection method to prevent circuit failure. Our inspections detect the real-time temperature of electrical components and identify areas of degraded insulation, loose connections and high resistance. This helps to avoid asset failure and downtime, thus providing long-term cost savings.
- Electrical Equipment Thermal Imaging Inspection
- Engine Space Thermal Imaging
- Viewsafe Thermal Inspection of HV Electrical Switchgear
RB Marine offers Thermal Image inspection service and reporting for electrical equipment as well as the hot surfaces of engines spaces. This can be completed on a one-off basis or on a Maintenance Contract over a specific time period.
To allow the safe thermal inspection of high voltage electrical switchgear, RB Marine utilise the Viewsafe System.
Viewsafe gives users the safest and most effective method of monitoring and maintaining their electrical equipment and assets.
Partial discharge is a major cause of component breakdown which leads to flashover and circuit failure. It can be caused by manufacturing and installation faults or may develop in service.
Partial discharge is a spark that bridges the insulation separating electrodes. Switchgear equipment requires regular testing to prevent faults occurring.
- Ultrasonic Detection
- Transient Earth Voltage Detection
- UltraTEV Plus+™Testing
- Electrical Equipment Health Reporting
The unit is able to detect partial discharge via TEV and ultrasonic measurement techniques to provide the user with the optimum information on the health of their electrical equipment.
We can provide calibration and repairs for electrical instruments. Our engineers apply diagnostic equipment to locate faults and return the instrument to fully calibrated working order. Each calibration includes a full report and certificate.
Our portable equipment ensures a quick process, so instruments can be calibrated during port and turn-around days. Alternatively, our USA or UK workshops can calibrate instruments sent by mail.
- Hand-held Multimeter Calibration & Repair
- Portable Calibration Equipment
Alternatively, our USA or UK workshop calibration offers a first class quality service in a controlled environment.
This form of non-abrasive cleaning uses solid carbon dioxide in a pressurized jet to clean the surfaces of electrical equipment. There is no chemical residue and is approved by the FDA, EPA and USDA.
- CO2 Blasting for Thorough Cleaning of Electrical Equipment
